Bethany United Methodist Church will have its annual Perlieu Stew sale Saturday, Nov. 3, from noon until 5 p.m. (or until the stew is sold out).

Adult plates are $8 and children’s plates are $5. Pints of stew are $6 and quarts are $10.

Making the stew dates back to the early 1900s when the men of the church went hunting and brought back wild game.

Today chicken is used instead of game but the stew is still made in large iron cauldrons.

Bethany is at 607 Rivers Rd. (where Milam changes to Rivers and crosses Lees’ Lake Road)in north Fayette County.
