Chiefs and Bobcats handed their first losses of season

McIntosh’s hopes for a 4-0 start were dashed by Drew on Friday night, The Chiefs got a field goal from Mike Licitra but couldn’t put up anymore points. The defense, which had only allowed six points per game in the previous three games, gave up four touchdowns. McIntosh (3-1) will try to bounce back from the 28-3 loss with a home game against Mundy’s Mill next week.

Our Lady of Mercy (3-1) traveled to Athens Academy tonight and lost 10-7. The Bobcats went ahead 7-3 in the third quarter when Jordan Thomas returned an interception for a touchdown but the Spartans had a big run for a touchdown late and got the 10-7 win. Mercy will play at Pace Academy next Friday.

Whitewater stayed hot with a 39-0 win over Union Grove. The Wildcats had been getting it done with their running game in prior weeks but started their scoring tonight with two touchdown passes from Jay Ashley to Trevor Morgan. Christian Wafford had a fumble return for a touchdown and a run for another, while Kendall Conley and Justin Peck each added one. The Wildcats (3-1) host Forest Park next Friday.

Starr’s Mill came back from their loss to West Forsyth last week with a 46-0 win over Mt. Zion Jonesboro. They will host Drew next Friday.

Sandy Creek (3-0) will host Fayette County (0-3) next Friday. Both teams were off tonight.

Landmark Christian (2-2) was off tonight as well. They will host Mt. Vernon Presbyterian next Friday.
