Friday, November 13 at 1:30 pm is the Quilters Guild of the Southern Crescent’s daytime meeting; which is held at the Evergreen Church in Peachtree City.
Tara Miller is the Guild’s featured speaker and her program is “How to Read a Quilt: Uncovering Its Story”. She will share how to read visual and material clues in the fabric and pattern, while exploring the quilt’s place in history and in the lives of the people connected with it.
Tara explains, “Antique quilts are more than historical objects – they are invitations. Each worn seam, unexpected color choice, improvisational border, and beautifully imperfect block offers a lesson in courage, play and problem solving.”
Evergreen Church is located at 400 Windgate Rd, Peachtree City. Doors open 30 minutes before the meetings for “social hour”. Admission is free.
