GriefShare starts at Holy Trinity
The 14-week GriefShare Christian support group will be offered on Wednesday evenings at Holy Trinity Catholic Church  from 7-9 p.m. starting  Aug. 8, and on Friday mornings from 9:30-11:30 a.m. beginning Aug,  10. Meetings include a video seminar and an opportunity to interact and share with others who have lost a loved one. Holy Trinity is at 101 Walt Banks Rd. in Peachtree City next to McIntosh High School. ‘Back to School’ festival set for Aug. 11
New Beginnings Praise and Worship Center will host its annual “Back to School” Festival Saturday, Aug. 11, from 1-6 p.m. This year’s event will have a Car Cruise Show as a main event and will feature fun, games, food,  and  free school supplies for the kids.  New Beginnings is at 1091 South Jeff Davis Dr, Fayetteville. Hopewell UMC to host concert Saturday
Hopewell UMC will host a free back-to-school concert this Saturday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m., featuring the music of “Tymbral.” Also planned are “Minute to Win It” games, prizes, and a time of prayer for schools and students. Boy Scouts sponsor food drive in PTC
Members of Boy Scout Troop 118 will sponsor a food drive for the Brooks United Methodist Church food pantry on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wal-Mart on Ga. Highway 54 West in Peachtree City.  For more details about the Brooks UMC food pantry, call 770- 719-7593.

Football and cheerleading registration set
McDonough Road Baptist Church in Fayetteville will kick off its Upward Flag Football and Cheerleading season next week for boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grade. Sign ups are taking place now, and mandatory evaluations or cheerleading orientations will be held Tuesday, Aug. 14 and Thursday, Aug. 16 between 6-7:30 p.m. Practices begin Monday, Aug. 20 and first game is Saturday, Sept. 8.  The deadline for registration is Sept. 3. DivorceCare starts at PTCUMC Aug. 15
Divorce Care will begin meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 15 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in room 300 at Peachtree City United Methodist Church, 225 Robinson Rd. The sessions are open to everyone and persons may join at any time during the 14 weeks the classes are in session. Carriage Lane to offer free ESL classes
ESL (English as a Second Language) classes for adults begin Friday, Sept. 7 at Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City and meet weekly through May 17, 2013.  Students can join any time.  Classes are held on Fridays from 9:30  to 11:30 a.m.  Childcare is provided. Annual Greekfest coming up in September
Greekfest 2012 wil be held Sept. 15 , beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Dixie Wing Commemorative Air Force Hangar at Falcon Field in Peachtree City. The event will feature Greek appetizers, favorite entrees and outstanding Greek pastries, adult beverages and soft drinks, live entertainment and a silent auction.
