A June 30 armed robbery at the Atlanta Bread Company at the Fayette Pavilion had the two men fleeing the scene in custody within four minutes of leaving the store.

Quentin Weems, 30, of Atlanta, and Jamel McAllister, 24, of College Park, were charged with armed robbery, according to Fayetteville Police Det. Mike Whitlow.

Whitlow said Weems and McAllister came in on an Atlanta Bread Company employee at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday. The two men held the employee at gunpoint and demanded the keys to the office, but were told he did not have them, Whitlow said. One of the men was wearing a mask while the other had his shirt pulled over his face, Whitlow added.

Weems and McAllister then forced their way into the office and attempted to open the safe, said Whitlow. Unable to do so, the men fled the store, Whitlow added.

The employee called 911 and Fayetteville officers arrived at the store within one minute and dispatched a description of the 2003 Acura furnished by the employee.

A Fayette County deputy on patrol in north Fayette County pulled the vehicle over at Ga. Highway 314 North within three minutes of the dispatch, Whitlow said.

The deputy reported that both men were attempting to change clothes in the moving car, Whitlow said.
