Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School will host its Spring Preview open house this Friday, January 27 from 4-6 p.m.
The Spring Preview gives prospective students and their families the opportunity to take a guided campus tour, meet with faculty and staff, speak with current students, and learn how Mercy’s strong academic and extracurricular programs can help prepare a student for his or her college of top choice.
In addition, all Spring Preview attendees will get a taste of Mercy’s school spirit and receive free admission to all the home basketball games that evening. The Bobcats JV and Varsity teams host Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy at 4, 5:30, 7, and 8:30 p.m.
Our Lady of Mercy, a co-ed college preparatory school located in Fayetteville, serves 9th-12th graders from more than 40 zip codes throughout the South and Metro Atlanta areas. However, Mercy maintains small class sizes that ensure personal attention. The current student to teacher ratio is 12 to 1.
“The Spring Preview is a great opportunity to get a feel for our school and to understand why our students are extremely well-prepared for college and beyond,” said Sandra Livsey-Martin, Mercy Director of Admissions and College Guidance. “Mercy is proud to offer challenging academics, championship athletics, and a dynamic fine arts program within an environment that integrates faith, family and values into all aspects of learning.”
Currently in its twelfth year, Mercy has its highest enrollment to date and recently graduated one of its most successful classes. The 56 graduates of the Class of 2011 brought in more than $4 million in scholarships – approximately $70,000 per student. Graduates were accepted to top post-secondary schools in the nation including MIT, Notre Dame, Xavier and the Naval Academy. In addition, 20% of the class received an athletic or fine arts scholarship – a reflection of Mercy’s commitment to a well-rounded education.
“We at Our Lady of Mercy are dedicated to the formation of the entire child in mind, body, and spirit. Like our Principal Mr. Dorsel always says, our top priority is to help our children get to Heaven, but our second priority is to get them into their college of top choice,” Livsey-Martin stated. “We encourage families who are looking for a challenging and complete high school experience to join us Friday to learn how we can help their children succeed inside and outside the classroom.”
