The Friends of the Peachtree City Library are pleased to present Edgar Award-winning novelist Phillip DePoy. Mr. DePoy will be coming to the Peachtree City Library on Sunday, December 4th to discuss A Corpse’s Nightmare, the sixth in the acclaimed Fever Devilin mystery series.
Although a crack medical team is able to save Appalachian folklorist Fever Devilin’s life after an intruder’s attack leaves him briefly dead, the experience plunges him into coma. Three months later, he wakes certain of the killer’s objective–a mysterious photograph that just might depict an angel–and haunted by dreams of 1920’s Paris. As recovery takes its mental and physical toll, Devilin must piece together the clues at hand and catch his assailant before it’s too late.
In addition to being Clayton State University’s Director of Theatre and the Atlanta Theatre Outfit’s former Artistic Director, Phillip DePoy boasts a distinguished career as a playwright and novelist. Mr. DePoy has seen his play Lamb on Fire produced in New York, while reviews of his drama have appeared in The Atlantic Monthly and American Theatre. His play Turned Funny received three Suzi Awards, Atlanta’s regional equivalent to the Tonys. As a novelist, his Fever Devilin series has been called “storytelling at its finest” by Kirkus Reviews, “engaging throughout; solidly enjoyable” by Publisher’s Weekly, and a “satisfying read” with a “moody setting” and “quirky characters” by Booklist.
Mystery hounds, regionalist readers, and the general public are invited to hear DePoy speak about “A Corpse’s Nightmare” on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 1:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
