You can’t win them all.

Since 2009, Sandy Creek has tried to prove otherwise. They won two state titles and 41 straight games. Their amazing run came to an end tonight in Gainesville. The Patriots lost 35-21.

Gainesville built a 14 point lead early into the second half, but the Patriots bounced back with a 15 yard touchdown run from
CJ Washington and a 2 yard touchdown run from Mike Hilton.
Gainesville regained the lead in the third, but Hilton answered with a 66 yard touchdown run to tie it. After that it was all Gainesville. The Red Elephants got a touchdown and another after a Sandy Creek turnover. The Patriots offense stalled and Gainesville ran the clock out.

“We didn’t play as good as we needed to and they didn’t make many mistakes,” head coach Chip Walker said. “When we had opportunities, we didn’t take advantage. “

The seniors on the Sandy Creek team went 52-3 during their career.  Walker knows he has had a special group, one that put the Patriot program among the elite teams in the state.
