Early deadline for July 6 paper
The Citizen offices will be closed Monday, July 4, for the holiday and the normal Monday deadline will be changed. The deadline will be noon on Friday, July 1, for religion articles, weddings, engagements and births to be published on Wednesday, July 6. Please make a note of this on your calendars.

Brooks VBS: June 24, 25, 26
All children ages three through fifth grade are invited to join Brooks UMC for Vacation Bible School. The theme is “Shake It Up Cafe.” VBS will feature chef’s hats and aprons, pots and pans, checkered tablecloths and chalkboard menus and exploring the Bible as a cookbook with recipes for living by God’s word. VBS will meet on Friday, June 24, from 6– 8 p.m., Saturday, June 25, from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., and Sunday, June 26, from 9 a.m. – noon with lunch afterwards. FFUMC VBS: June 27-July 1
All children ages three (as of Jan. 1, 2011) through fifth grade (2010-2011 school year) are invited to join FFMUC for Shake It Up Cafe Vacation Bible School to be held June 27- July 1 from 9 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. The cost is $10. Heritage Christian VBS: June 27-July 1
Heritage Christian Church in Fayetteville is inviting kids to get cookin’ at its Shake It Up Café Vacation Bible School, Monday, June 27-Friday, July 1 from 8:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. VBS is open to kids who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade. Hopewell UMC VBS: June 27-30
Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone invites all children ages preschool through fifth grade to participate in PandaMania VBS 2011 which will be held at the church June 27-30, from 9 a.m. – noon. Everything is hands-on and things might get a little messy. FFC’s Life Groups start summer session

FFUMC’s music camp starts July 11
Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will offer a summer music camp for children in kindergarten through sixth grade July 11-15. Children will learn about strings, wind instruments, singing, rhythm and more. Classes will meet every day from 9 a.m. until noon. The cost is $60 for the week. Fasola singing school starts July 15
Clayton State University’s Spivey Hall will host its Sacred Harp Singing School on Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16. The event is free.
