Fayette County’s solid waste transfer station will remain closed temporarily in the wake of a recent fire.
Fire crews have put out the flames, but there may still be some smouldering in the debris, officials said. In the meantime, the transfer station will be closed until further notice.
When the transfer station is re-opened, the county will post an update on its website, www.fayettecountyga.gov.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this point, officials said, but it is under investigation.
