Thanks to the efforts of PTC Boy Scout Troop 175, 734 children of soldiers from a battalion at Fort Benning deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan may have had a little more to smile about this past Christmas.

The scouts were able to give each child a movie ticket along with 100 calling cards for the single soldiers that are deployed down range.  The Troop’s annual holiday service projects have always been centered around the military and the scouts this year wanted to do something special for the children spending the holidays without a parent.  The scouts supported this project by picking up Christmas Trees to be recycled .

It was a huge success.

Through this small act of patriotism, scouts are letting members of the armed forces know that they care deeply about them and their families and the great risk they take to protect this country

PTC Troop 175 is currently seeking new scouts to join their troop.  If interested, contact Scout Master Danny McCranie at 770-365-3175
