Jim H. Winslett, Jr., 66, of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010, and is now with our Lord and Savior.
He was a caring son, loving father and proud grandfather and he will be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father CWO4(R) Jim H. Winslett and is survived by his mother, Muriel (Dean) Davis Winslett of Fayetteville, GA, two daughters and son-in-law, Amy Winslett of Atlanta, GA, Stephanie and Zach Trogdon of Boiling Springs, NC, two grandchildren, Davis and Allison Trogdon, his sister and brother-in-law Sara and COL (R) Jim White of Fayetteville, NC, and 5 nephews and 7 nieces.
Jim worked as an engineer for Fulton County for over 17 years and retired as the Energy Management Engineer in January of 2010. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed taking his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews out on his boat at any opportunity.
His family will receive friends Saturday, September 25th at Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home, 180 N. Jeff Davis Dr. , Fayetteville , Georgia , from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be officiated by LTC (R) Glenn Stringham on Sunday, September 26th at 3 PM in the Overton Chapel, Fayetteville First Baptist Church, 205 East Stonewall Ave. , Fayetteville, GA. Burial service will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Senior Adult or Homebound Ministries of Fayetteville First Baptist Church.
