Hill Parks “H.P.” Huddleston, 97, of Peachtree City, died August 10, 2010.

Mr.Huddleston was born and raised in Fayetteville. He was the youngest of ten children of John Calvin Huddleston & Roxie Ana Hall Huddleston.

He retired from Delta Air Lines as a mechanic after 26 years of service.

An active member of the Delta Pioneers for many years and a longtime active member of the Delta Fair Share Committee and a Delta group which sponsored a Children’s Cottage at Christian City, he also was involved in the Kiwanis Club of Riverdale for 27 years and a 25-year member of Legion of Honor & Interclub chairman for 12 years. July 11, 1996, to commemorate his service to the community, was proclaimed “Hill Huddleston Day” by the mayor of Riverdale , GA.

Mr. Huddleston was a member of St. Andrews Methodist Church for 40 years, serving in the men’s club and as a steward.When the church closed, he joined the First United Methodist Church of Fayetteville. He was also an active member of the Fayette County Historical Society.

Mr. Huddleston resided at Christian City for eight years where he was active in their church services and other activities. He recently lived at Southland Nursing Home in Peachtree City .

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Kathryn Ansley Huddleston; son Robert Thomas Huddleston & grandson Robert Michael Huddleston.

He is survived by daughter Jo Ann Hewell & husband Tom; grandchildren Randy Huddleston & wife Christie, Sherri Walling & husband Eugene, Suzanne Steward & husband Tom, Dana Britt & husband Andy; nine great grandchildren & three great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home ( Fayetteville ) with Dr. Jerry Cross officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
