Fresh Food with Hometown Charm! That’s the motto of the Peachtree City Picnic Basket. The newest restaurant to hit the south side of Atlanta has the look of a franchise but the charm of a “Mom & Pop” store.

“We wanted to create a one of a kind sandwich and coffee shop,” said Debbie Sanders owner. Walk in the door and you will be greeted by a beautiful maple tree in a park scene. Follow the cobblestone path and pass by beautiful picnic baskets and little critters climbing the walls. “Have a picnic in our charming park,” said Robert Sanders co-owner. “Everyone will love the atmosphere, décor and best of all the food.”

As you come to the end of the path you will see a menu with a multitude of choices. “Beautiful food begins with fresh food. From our fresh baked cinnamon rolls, whole wheat croissant’s and muffins to our white and wheat sub rolls we take pride in baking on site,” said Sanders.

A “Specialty of the House” is the chicken salad. A tasty combination of diced chicken breast, cranberry raisins, walnuts and the secret sauce makes this a must try. For breakfast, the combination of Italian Lavazza drip coffee or espresso and cinnamon rolls floats a wonderful aroma to greet you at the door.

“With seating for 45, there is plenty of room to enjoy a meal,” Sanders said, “We are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. We would love to invite small organizations, clubs and individuals to have meetings, baby or bridal showers, or birthday parties. We can create a menu for any occasion.”

When you think of Peachtree City, you think golf-carts and outdoor concerts. The Picnic Basket is the place to stop on your way. With a variety of “Picnic Packages” including a “Dessert Pack” that includes fresh baked cookies, brownies, fresh fruit and the signature “OooeyGooey” butter cake to the “Picnic Pack” that includes a variety of sandwiches, side salads and desserts, there is a package to fit every occasion. For large parties, sandwich platters, “Big Subs”, cheesecakes and cupcakes can be ordered. Please give 24 hour notice.

“We have the ability to put any picture on a cake. Our Copy Cake uses edible icing and we can decorate round or sheet cakes,” Sanders commented.
