Edwin O’Rear Faulkner, 79, passed away on May 23, 2010.

Ed (Eddie) was born in Atlanta, GA, March 8, 1931. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Joyce Faulkner; mother, Pansy Richards Faulkner Camp, his father, Edwin O. Faulkner, Sr. and his stepfather, Thomas E. Camp, Jr. and his beloved aunt & uncle, Bessie and Ambrose Lester.

He attended Boys High School and graduated from Bass High School in 1949, where he served as junior and senior class president. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1954 where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was founder and president of Faulkner Company, a wholesale distributor of commercial HVAC and refrigeration products. He was also owner and president of Jo-Ness-Co Controls, an automatic controls panel engineering and manufacturing firm. Ed was active in youth sports, coaching for ten years with the DeKalb Yellow Jackets and the Fayette County Blue Devils. He served as the Fayette County High School Athletic Booster Club president for four years.

He is survived by son, Eddie Faulkner, Peachtree City; daughter, Linda Faulkner (Karen) Jackson, GA; son, Michael Faulkner (Nathalie) Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren, Jacqueline and Thomas Faulkner; sister-in-law, Sarah Forrest, Conyers; brother-in-law, John Cooper (Sandi), Mansfield, GA; and nieces, Linda Forrest Anglin (Mark), Covington, GA.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
