An altercation March 11 at Marnelle Mobile Home Park on Ga. Highway 54 resulted in charges of aggravated assault, interference with a 911 call and criminal trespass for 32-year-old Daniel Keith Stephens.

The incident occurred at approximately 11 p.m. as a domestic situation between Stephens and two other persons, said Fayette Sheriff’s spokesperson Brent Rowan. Stephens resided with the pair, he added.

Rowan said deputies arrived, attempting to de-escalate an argument. They separated Stephens from the others but because all three had established residence in the home they could not make any of the three leave the home, said Rowan.

When deputies were leaving the residence Stephens confronted the two victims once again, throwing a knife at one of the them, Rowan said, noting that the other victim attempted to call 911 on a cellphone but had it knocked away.

Rowan said deputies came back into the residence after hearing the commotion and took Stephens into custody at the scene.

No one was injured in the incident, Rowan said.
