Walter James Waggoner, 94, of Brooks, died March 10, 2010.

He was a simple kind of man who loved to tell stories and was affectionately known as “ Boom Pa.” He retired from General Motors after 35 years of service.

Mr. Waggoner is survived by his son James Edwin and Wanda Waggoner of Fayetteville; daughter Patricia Ann Stephens of Brooks; grandchildren Kimberly Ann Stephens of Panama City, FL, Bradford James Waggoner of Summerville, GA, Clinton Ray and Leah Waggoner of Huntsville, AL, and Keely Brooke and Jeff Schmidlkofer of Fayetteville; and 7 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park with the Reverend Robert Dial officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at C.J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.

Those who prefer are asked to make memorial donations to Christian Ministries Hospice, 621 Carver Rd., Griffin, GA 30224.
