Frances Phillips Waldrop, 87, Fayetteville, died Jan. 27, 2010. In World War II, she helped to manufacture airplanes at the old Chevrolet plant in Atlanta. Later she modeled for Rich’s Department store and at one time was a school crossing guard. She was a member of the Embroidery Guild of America.

Services were at the Overton Chapel, Fayetteville First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Park, Jonesboro. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Robert Alvin Waldrop, Fayetteville; a daughter, Jenny White, Charleston, S. C.; and grandchildren, Owen White, and Clayton White, Charleston. Memorial donations may be made to the Fayetteville First Baptist Homebound Ministry.
