Thirty-three-year-old Sharpsburg resident Eric Waters was found dead on the CSX railroad tracks near downtown Senoia during the nighttime hours of Sept. 6. Though he was apparently hit by the train, the investigation into Waters’ death is active and ongoing.
Commenting on the death, Senoia Police Investigator Alicia Batts said an employee on the scene in a train on the CSX tracks called 911 at 8:36 p.m. Senoia officers arriving at the railroad tracks in the area of Coweta Street and Ray Street found Waters dead when they arrived, Batts said.
Batts said Waters had been run over by the train.
Additional details of the incident are not known at this time. Batts noted that the investigation into Waters’ death is active and has been ongoing since Sept. 6.
Investigators with CSX are also participating in the investigation.
