Senoia police are asking for the publicās help after a woman walking for exercise Sunday night was grabbed from behind by a man who attempted to sexually assault her.
The incident happened around 10 p.m. Sunday, August 16, on Travis Street between Clark Street and Bridge Street, according to a release from the Senoia Police Department.
Police said the Senoia resident was walking for exercise when a male subject approached her from behind and grabbed her.
The woman was able to fight free, and the attacker fled the area.
āThankfully this incredibly resilient person was able to fight free from the attacker who then fled the scene,ā the department stated.
Police are asking anyone who was in or around downtown Senoia near the time of the attack to think back to anything unusual they may have seen. The department specifically mentioned the areas around the Senoia Post Office, railroad tracks, Gin Street properties, and surrounding downtown streets.
āIf you were in the area of downtown, Senoia Post Office, RR Tracks, Gin Street Properties and saw anything you thought was odd or suspicious around this time or just prior to, please reach out to us,ā the department stated.
No description of the attacker beyond identifying the person as a male subject was provided in the release.
The department said it is āall hands-on deckā in the investigation and is using every available resource.
