Fayette C.A.R.E. Clinic (FCC), a 501 (c)3 non-profit for Fayette County‘s uninsured in need of free healthcare, will host its 2nd Annual 5K Trail Run/Walk on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at the beautiful Pinewood Forest, 290 Heatherdon Avenue, Fayetteville, Georgia. The C.A.R.E. for The Clinic 5K Trail Run takes place on the scenic, wooded trails surrounding Pinewood Forest at the peak of autumn. Following the 5K Trail Run, gear up for the excitement of teams competing for prizes and bragging rights in the C.A.R.E for the Clinic inaugural hospital bed race.
The 2nd Annual C.A.R.E. for The Clinic 5K Trail Run/Walk features a trail with rolling hills, creeks, ponds, beautiful new homes at Pinewood Forest and the new Piedmont Wellness Center. As you round the last curve, music drifts down the trail to inspire that extra push to the finish line. There will be food, fun, and festivities in a park-like setting at Pinewood Forest.
This year, we launch our exciting hospital bed race. Five-member teams (4 Pushers & 1 Rider) will be competing in a timed trial bed race event. Each team will receive a “head start” based on the amount of funds raised through a peer-to-peer campaign and have a chance to win not only bragging rights, but a plaque and a team gift basket with gift cards from area restaurants and businesses. Most importantly, C.A.R.E. for the Clinic 5K Trail Run and Bed Race is not only a fun-filled day, but one which will be raising funds for Fayette C.A.R.E. Clinic Inc. enabling them to serve more uninsured residents of Fayette County in need of a medical home.
The bed race will be a 200-yard course set up on the streets of Pinewood Forest. Two hospital racing beds will be furnished for all teams to push for this time trial event. Each team will have a timed race and the top 2 teams will compete in the finals…for the win! In addition to the awards for the fastest 4 times, there will be 3 other awards: “best costumes”, “team with the most funds raised”, and “best team spirit”.
