John Langley Stevens, 62, of Fayetteville peacefully passed away on May 1, 2018 at Emory University Hospital with his wife, son and daughter by his side.
He was born on March 25, 1956 in Westfield, N.J. to the late Horace Alexander and Carolyn Nichols Stevens. John worked for Lowe’s for 18 years, most recently in Fayetteville. He was a member of North Fayette United Methodist Church and was a member of the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity. John was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved the beach, sailing and golf.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Stevens. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jolynn Goldsmith Stevens; his son, Jason Dean Stevens (Madison); his daughter Amyruth Stevens Blade (Jeremy); one grandchild, Bradley Dean Stevens; his sister; Dianne S. Maher; his brother, Dr. Robert Stevens; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for John will be held on May 4, 2018 at 3 p.m. at North Fayette United Methodist Church, 847 New Hope Road, Fayetteville, Ga. 30214, with Pastor Beverly Casstevens and Rev. Tommy Ross officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service.
