Our fearless leader and provider, Richard Wayne Brettin, 59, of Peachtree City, passed away December 20, 2017. He was born on March 14, 1958, in Savannah, Ga.
Richard was a Christian and knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Southside Church in Peachtree City. He worked his way through school as a co-op student and graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He then obtained his master’s degree in engineering management at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Rick developed a love of travel growing up as an Air Force brat. He was a world traveler and worked in such places as Dubai, Qatar, London, and Singapore.
Richard is survived by his wife of 31 years, Tamara Brettin; daughter, Brittney (Ryan) Gloer; sons, Benjamin Brettin and Braeden Brettin; grandchildren, Judah, Asher, and Micah Gloer; parents, Roland and Vera Mae Brettin; sisters, Sheila (Herbie) Webster and Sherry Webster; brother, David (Angie) Brettin. He is also survived by numerous, beloved nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Southside Church, Peachtree City. The family will accept friends from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, Ga.
