Mays Frederick Joyner, 81, of Fayetteville passed away on November 27, 2017.  He was born on January 11, 1936 in Madison County, TN to the late Mamie and Guy Joyner.  Mays attended University of Tennessee at Martinsville, Tenn.  Mays was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and Leader of Bible Ministry for Men.  Mays proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Mays was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Danny and Guy Joyner.  He is survived by his wife, Joyce Joyner; his daughter, Phyllis Pitts (Lewis) of Senoia; his son, Michael Joyner (Michelle) of Marietta; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his brother, Ray Joyner (Judy) of Jackson; his sister-in-law, Jamie Joyner, widow of Danny Joyner; and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Liberty Baptist Church, Fayetteville, with Pastor Randy Wood officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.  Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Providence Methodist Church Cemetery, 10 Shaw Road, Jacksonville, Tenn.  38301.
