Alex Rodriquez from Town Square Jewelers and other jewelers from around the country attended the exclusive Fall 2010 Retail Jewelers Organization (RJO) Buying Show in Kansas City.
The RJO Buying Show is held semi-annually and provides independent jewelers such as Town Square Jewelers the opportunity to browse latest trends, network with other industry leaders and purchase jewelry at pre-negotiated prices. Purchasing inventory at these prices allows jewelers like Town Square Jewelers to pass along savings to their customers, while offering the latest styles and trends available.
“Purchasing inventory at the low prices that come with being an RJO member allows us to offer competitive pricing to our customers,” said Alex Rodriquez, of Town Square Jewelers. “We love being able to offer new, unique pieces of jewelry that are affordable – and attending the RJO Buying Show gives us the opportunity to stay on top of what’s hot in the industry.”
This show was themed “Be Daring, Be Dazzled,” and offered continuing education opportunities on several topics including motivating employees, managing sales, marketing effectively and managing inventory, among others.
“The RJO show isn’t just about buying jewelry; our members come together to network and attend various workshops that provide them the tools to remain respected members of their business community,” said Mary Peterson, CEO of RJO. “Our seminars offer continuing education opportunities that give our jewelers an opportunity for new industry thinking and experiences.”
In 1966, RJO was founded by a small group of independent jewelers who joined together to command better vendor prices by buying collectively. Since that time, RJO has added hundreds of members, essential support programs and marketing services while remaining owned by its jeweler members. For more information, visit www.rjomembers.com.
