Maria J. Velasquez 92, of Peachtree City passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016. She was born in Apurimac, Peru on January 16, 1924 to the late Faustino and Francisca Sanchez.
Maria loved listening to music, especially the violin. She raised horses and alpacas, and was most comfortable riding horses and enjoying nature. Maria was a true animal lover. She continued her love of nature with her gardening.
Maria is survived by her sons, Javier G. Velasquez and Evelyn Martinez of Peachtree City, and Jose Antonio and Lourdes Principe of Virginia; daughters Nancy J. Velasquez of Peachtree City and Zulma V. Velasquez and Miguel A. Garcia of Peachtree City; and sister, Canicia Sanchez-Herrera of Maryland.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joaquin Velasquez Camargo.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City, with Father Dairo Rico officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 6-8 p.m.
