The Heritage Community Foundation presented a $2,500 grant Aug. 8 to Life and Money Matters executive director-founder Michael Burt. It will be used to purchase the supplies needed by Life and Money Matters to promote financial wellness and literacy.
Burt is certified as a Dave Ramsey Personal Financial Coach and is also an Estate Design Strategist through Lifestyles Giving. He also holds bachelor’s and a master’s degrees in music.
Since the downturn in the economy, many families have struggled to maintain their previous standard of living. This has caused numerous families to accumulate debt to the point that it seems there is no way out. Statistics indicate that 85 percent of divorces can be attributed, at least in part, to financial problems. Life and Money Matters strives to guide families through these very difficult times and to get them on a path to prosperity.
The mission of Life and Money Matters is to instruct, educate, and coach individuals in the areas of personal finance and estate planning by using practical and concise strategic concepts. The programs available range from those designed to help newlyweds learning to work together to avoid accumulating debt to those created to guide families who need advice on saving and estate planning. Life and Money Matters is grounded in a Christian philosophy that incorporates the teaching of God’s Word by developing a plan of financial stability, saving, and charitable giving. Life and Money Matters sells no products; they only provide educational and financial information.
