The Heritage Community Foundation presented a grant May 10 to executive director Kaye Sheets and board member Sandy Craig of Samaritans Together of Henry County, Inc. The $2,500 grant will be used to purchase a new computer server to process and house all of the data collected by Samaritans Together and its sister agency, Helping in His Name Ministries, Inc.

The mission of Samaritans Together of Henry County, Inc. is to model the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by providing rent assistance and/or utility assistance to the needy people of Henry County. This mission is carried out by a small staff using donated money. Their mission is usually short-term help as long-term relief is beyond the scope of their operations. Samaritans Together is able to assist those in crisis through the financial support of local churches, organizations, corporations, foundations, and individuals. Since 1992, the organization has offered hope, help, and love to many Henry County families who have found themselves in desperate situations.

For more information on how to apply for a grant with Heritage Community Foundation, make a donation or volunteer, visit www.heritagecommunityfoundation.org or contact executive director Rocky Davis at 770-478-8881.
