Mrs. Nell M. Huffman, 91, of Fayetteville, Ga. passed away on May 16, 2016 in Kennesaw, Ga. after an extended illness.

She was born in Flovilla, Ga. on October 17, 1924 to Dan and Susie Coleman. Nell was married to Connie Alexander Huffman, both having distinguished careers in the U.S. Civil Service. She was baptized in the Victory Baptist Church, Forest Park, Ga., and later became a charter member of Harps Crossing Baptist Church in Fayetteville. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, affectionately known to many as “Nanny.”

Nell is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Connie Alexander Huffman.

She is survived by her children, Donna Smith Ackerman (Phil), Brenda Corley (Fred), Barbara Huggins (Chester), Susan Thompson (Dee), and Scott Huffman (Susan); her grandchildren, Glenn Smith, Wendy Ashmore, Chris Looney, Phil Corley, Andrea Schwarting, Paige Addy, Jill Cobb Marino, Kristi Collins, Marla Ward, Leah Thompson, Ashley Huffman, and Alex Huffman; 16 great grandchildren; and brother, T.J. Coleman.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Ga. The burial and brief graveside service will take place at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to service.
