More than half of the county’s schools are participating in the Georgia School Breakfast Program, providing a convenient and nutritious way for students to get the nourishment they need for academic success.

Nine elementary, two middle and two high schools are serving breakfast this year: Cleveland Elementary, Fayetteville Elementary, Huddleston Elementary, Inman Elementary, Kedron Elementary, North Fayette Elementary, Oak Grove Elementary, Robert J. Burch Elementary, Spring Hill Elementary, Bennett’s Mill Middle, Flat Rock Middle, Fayette County High, and Sandy Creek High.

All breakfasts include grains, protein (either a meat or meat alternate), fruit and milk. A school breakfast provides one-fourth of the recommended daily amounts of protein, calcium, iron, vitamin A and vitamin C.

Student breakfast prices are $1.45 for elementary, and $1.50 for middle and high. Breakfast menus for the month are available at www.fcboe.org. Click the “Departments” tab at the top, and select the “School Nutrition” link from the dropdown menu.
