Doris Bryan Cook, 92, of Fayetteville, formerly of East Point, Ga. went to be with Jesus on March 11, 2015.

She was a beautiful and precious lady who loved her family above all else. Doris was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of East Point and later was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Her faith in Christ was of utmost importance to her and she didn’t mind sharing that faith with others.

She worked as a Realtor for 35+ years and was loved by her peers. Affectionately referred to as Gram by her family, Doris was an excellent cook, to which all of her family can attest. She and her late husband Bill were married for 68 years. After suffering with dementia for 12+ years, we are sure she was excited to see Jesus, her precious “Shug” and all the others who have gone before. What a sweet homecoming it must have been! Surely He said, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

She is survived by her children, Pattie (Horace) Elliott, Charles (Annette) Cook, Michael (Robin) Cook, and Robin Thomas, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Jimmie (Sandra) Bryan.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 15, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City, with Pastor Barry Odom, Doris’ grandson, officiating. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 1p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Church51, 931 Monroe Drive NE, Suite A-102, #335, Atlanta, Ga. 30308.
