Peachtree City officials are reminding residents of several ongoing and new projects that may interfere with regular travel or cause safety hazards.
The projects include;
1. Highway 54 East Median Maintenance, an ongoing project for several weeks. Crews will work on the Highway 54 East median between Highway 74 and the eastern city limits between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Some lanes may be closed, but the work will be done mainly Tuesday through Thursday.
2. Stormwater drainage project between Saddlebrook Drive and Pacers Walk is scheduled to begin in March and take about 60 days. A damaged storm drainage system is being replaced between 105 Saddlebrook and 104 Pacers Walk.
During construction, Saddlebrook Drive and Pacers Walk will remain open to vehicular traffic.
3. The Kroger expansion. The Kroger at Braelinn Village Shopping Center is undergoing a major expansion, which caused the path between Kroger and El Ranchero to be closed. The contractors report that people continue to walk into the construction zone, particularly at the path entrance by El Ranchero.
Heavy construction equipment can cause serious injuries and residents are urged to stay out of the area.
4. Atlanta Gas Light work in Clover Reach, Perthshire, and Edgewater. Atlanta Gas Light is wrapping up work in Clover Reach and will be moving to the Perthshire and Edgewater areas next. The company is replacing vintage pipe and gas mains. Letters and door hangars should be placed in neighborhoods notifying residents of projected work dates.
The gas company will clean up their job sites as the project progresses, and yards will be restored to pre-construction condition by the end of the project.
