September 1, 2026 – By Staff Reports

Fayette Samaritans is asking for community support to help restock its food pantry for September, with several pantry staples and personal-care items among this month’s most-needed donations.

The organization also needs volunteers to assist in the office, clothes closet, and food pantry. Volunteers typically commit one morning a week from 9 a.m. to noon. Fayette Samaritans is also seeking couriers to pick up food once or twice a week.

Most-needed pantry items for September include:

  • Peanut butter
  • Jelly
  • Canned green beans
  • Canned mixed vegetables
  • Canned corn
  • Pancake mix
  • Syrup
  • Tea
  • Hamburger Helper
  • Pasta sauce
  • Feminine products

The Fayette Samaritans Clothes Closet is also requesting women’s socks

Donations may be dropped off at Fayette Samaritans, located at 126 Hickory Road in Fayetteville. For more information about donations or volunteer opportunities, call 770-719-2707.

“Whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me,” the organization reminds supporters, quoting Matthew 25:45.
