A major gathering of classic Porsche cars is coming to Fayetteville this fall, when Luftgekühlt 12 takes over Town at Trilith on Saturday, October 10.

The event specializes in air-cooled Porsches and brings together historically significant race cars, classic road cars, preservation vehicles, and privately owned Porsches selected for display.

It will be the first Luftgekühlt event held in the American South, according to organizers.

“Every Luft is shaped by the place that hosts it, Trilith stood out for the thriving creative culture, incredible food and music scene, alongside one of the strongest Porsche communities in the country,” said Luftgekühlt and Air|Water founder Patrick Long.

“With Porsche Cars North America’s headquarters just down the road, there’s an undeniable connection to the brand that makes this region especially meaningful,” Long said. “Bringing Luft 12 to Georgia allows us to celebrate that heritage while creating a uniquely Southern experience for our community.”

Luftgekühlt — German for “air-cooled” — focuses on Porsche vehicles from the era when the company used air-cooled engines in many of its best-known models.

Organizers have previously held events at Road Atlanta in Braselton, and this year’s Trilith gathering comes one week after the Petit Le Mans and IMSA WeatherTech Championship finale at the racetrack on October 3.

Luftgekühlt 12 is expected to highlight Porsche racing history as well as its road cars. Organizers said the collection will include notable racing vehicles and cars from private collections around the world.

This year’s event poster features the Whittington Brothers’ 1979 Porsche 935 K3, a well-known Porsche race car. Organizers also said motorsports personalities are expected to attend.

Town at Trilith gives the event an unusual setting for a car show. Located beside Trilith Studios in Fayetteville, the development’s streets, buildings, restaurants, and public spaces will become part of the exhibition.

The location also puts the event within driving distance of Porsche Cars North America’s headquarters and the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta.

In addition to the cars, Luftgekühlt 12 will include exhibitor areas, displays, and live programming throughout Town at Trilith.

A separate opening-night welcome party is planned for Friday, October 9. Organizers describe that event as a smaller gathering featuring hospitality, selected vehicles, and a behind-the-scenes look at the Trilith setting.

Owners who would like their air-cooled Porsche considered for the show can also submit their vehicles for review. Accepted cars will become part of the curated exhibition.

Tickets for both the October 9 welcome party and October 10 show are on sale now.
