Letter to the Editor: Follow Keller’s Fiscal Responsibility

Kenneth Hamner’s recent column urging readers to “follow the money” certainly gave me a laugh, mostly because it completely stopped following the trail the moment it reached Congressman Brian Jack’s opponent, Maura Keller.

If Kenneth and The Citizen are so deeply invested in scrutinizing campaign finance and political operations just days before an election, why does that curiosity vanish when it comes to Maura Keller?

More importantly, if we are examining fiscal responsibility and organizational fitness for office, shouldn’t voters in Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District know the full story?

Why hasn’t The Citizen asked Maura why she was sued by her former campaign manager right here in Fayette County Superior Court, or investigated the serious allegations detailed in that lawsuit?

Why haven’t they asked her how she managed to leave her previous campaign $25,520 in debt?

If a candidate cannot properly manage their own campaign team or balance their own campaign books, how can we trust them to manage federal policy and taxpayer dollars in Washington?

The Democratic Party and its candidates rely heavily on outside money, and Maura Keller is no exception. A look at her public Federal Election Commission filings shows a steady stream of national and outside support—from conduits like ActBlue to PACs such as Future Democrats PAC ($5,000) based in Washington, D.C., Hold the Line ($4,000), and a Villa Rica fundraiser this past May hosted via a Reddit AMA and headlined by Atlanta’s former mayor, Keisha Lance Bottoms. If Kenneth wants to write an eye-opening exposé on big-money political influence, perhaps he should investigate the extensive networks and foundations pouring funds into socialist-aligned Democratic platforms across the nation.

For anyone who watched the recent debate between Congressman Jack and Maura, the contrast in competence, preparation, and leadership was crystal clear. It is puzzling why The Citizen and Kenneth haven’t highlighted that debate for our community so voters can see the difference for themselves.

Congressman Brian Jack has consistently delivered results, championed our district’s best interests, and supported policies that brought our country historic tax relief. He has never missed a vote, and has never traded a stock. Kenneth’s one-sided diatribe should only motivate local conservatives and independents to turn out in droves.

Early voting ends this Friday, and Election Day is Tuesday. Our district deserves accountable reporting, and in Washington, we deserve proven, responsible leadership. That is why Congressman Brian Jack has my full support and vote.

Sincerely,

Nancy Holland
