Get a Pet of the Week: Holle — A Truly Special Girl

When Holle first came to the shelter, she and her twelve newborn puppies had been shoved into a storage bin and left to fend for themselves. Despite such a rough start, Holle remained as sweet as could be, patiently caring for her little ones, and proving that she has a kind and resilient spirit. We named her after Frau Holle, and like her namesake, Holle deserves love and rewards for her good deeds.

Thanks to the great response of this community, all twelve of Holle’s puppies have found wonderful homes. Now it’s Holle’s turn to be the one spoiled and cherished. At just two years old and weighing about 55 pounds, Holle is a medium-sized sweetheart with a gentle, affectionate nature. Her mesmerizing eyes seem to tell her whole story — one of quiet resilience and endless love.

Holle is ready to trade shelter life for couch cuddles, belly rubs, and a family who will adore her as much as she had adored her pups. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s past the wild puppy stage, but still has a lifetime of affection to give, Holle is waiting for you.

Holle is available for adoption at Fayette County Animal Shelter, located at 1131 Highway 74 South in Peachtree City. The shelter is open seven days a week — Monday through Friday from 11–5, and weekends from 12–5. Come meet Holle and see if she’s the perfect fit for your family!
