Coweta BoE makes new admin. appointments

Two of the Coweta County School System’s high school principal’s have been named to positions in central office in the wake of a restructuring effort.
Newnan High School Principal Doug Moore has been named the school system’s Director of Operations and School Safety and Northgate Principal Therese Reddekopp has been named the school system’s Director of Instructional Services, according to school system spokesman Dean Jackson.
Moore and Reddekopp’s new jobs will begin next school year. Jackson said the new positions will combine a number of duties held by recently retired or retiring administrators in the school system and will reduce the overall size of the school system’s central office and result in cost-savings for the system.
Moore has served as the principal of Newnan High School since July of 2008. Moore, a Coweta County native and an alumnus of Newnan High, is a 32–year educator. He began with the school system as a music teacher in 1981 and taught at several schools, including Arnco-Sargent Elementary School, Moreland Elementary School, Grantville Public Elementary School, Evans Middle School, Central Middle School, Smokey Road Middle School and Newnan High School.
In 2003 Moore became assistant principal at Canongate Elementary School and in 2004 became a Newnan High School assistant principal, where he served until assuming the school’s principalship in 2008. Moore earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education at Jacksonville State University, his master’s degree from the State University of West Georgia and his Education Specialist degree and doctorate from Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida, Jackson said.
Therese Reddekopp has served as the principal of Northgate High school for 10 years. Reddekopp, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a 33-year educator. She began her career in 1980 teaching Spanish, French and English in high schools in Louisiana and then moved to the Carrollton School System in Texas where she taught and later served as an assistant middle school principal.
Reddekopp came to the Coweta County School System 1998 where she taught French at Evans Middle School before moving to Newnan High School in 1999 as an assistant principal. She was named Northgate’s principal in 2003. During her career, Reddekopp has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of West Georgia, Brookhaven College in Farmer’s Branch Texas, and Southeastern Louisiana university in Hammond, Louisiana. Reddekopp earned her BA in Spanish and English Education from Southeastern Louisiana University, her masters in Secondary Teaching from Southeastern Louisiana University, her administrative certification from Texas Woman’s University and her doctorate from the University of Sarasota, said Jackson.
