Two Sandy Creek artists were honored to have their work shown on a special stage. Nakaiya Wright and Alex Ramirez had their drawings picked to represent Fayette County in the annual Capitol Art Exhibition at the Georgia State Capitol.

Wright, a senior, drew a flower in a black diamond, and Ramirez, a junior, depicted a woman in clouds. Both artists used liquid ink and calligraphy pens for their designs.

Among those on hand to celebrate Wright and Ramirez were Sandy Creek Principal Richard Smith, their art instructor Stephanie Stein, and State Representative Derrick Jackson.
