Mr. Jerry L. Darby, loving husband, father and grandfather, of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012.

Mr. Darby was a graduate of Campbell High School. He was an Airborne Ranger in the U.S. Army serving in Korea. He retired from Owens Illinois Glass Company and was a longtime member of Flat Creek Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Like Christ he served others and was a Godly example to many. He will be missed by all who knew him, but not forgotten.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Darby; son, Jerry Mark Darby and his wife, Donna of Fayetteville; brothers, Walter Darby and wife, Hollene of Acworth; David Darby and wife, Judy of North Carolina; grandchildren, Michael Christian Darby, Matthew Jacob Darby, both of Fayetteville; multiple nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

A funeral service was held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Cross officiating. Interment followed at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
