Fayette County Public Schools is reaching out to future teachers interested in joining the After School Program (ASP) team.

ASP is inviting high school juniors and seniors who are at least 16 years old and are interested in working with young children to apply to be a student-worker. The position is part-time and pays $12 per hour.

Student-workers work 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon on school days. Preference will be given to students who can work five days a week; however, applicants may request to work fewer days.

Like many school systems across the nation, Fayette County Public Schools is facing a shortage of qualified ASP staff. The shortage has resulted in some children being put on a waiting list for ASP until additional staff can be hired for the school in need.

Applicants should apply online at www.fcboe.org and click on the Position Openings link. For more information, contact the After School Programs office at 770-460-3990 ext. 1038.
