Lisa O. Ramig, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on January 8, 2026. She was born on March 7, 1965, in Miami, Florida, to William and Martha Ordway.
Lisa was a woman whose warmth, generosity, and compassion touched everyone who knew her. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, and her loss leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share in her life. Those who knew Lisa will remember her for her kind spirit, her creativity, her gentle humor, and her unwavering devotion to the people—and animals—she loved.
Lisa spent her early years in Miami before moving to Stone Mountain, Georgia. She attended DeKalb County schools and graduated from Redan High School in 1983, where she was a proud member of the school’s swim team. Her strong work ethic and creative eye later guided her professional life.
After moving from DeKalb County to Fayette County, Lisa worked for the Fayette County Board of Education. Following her time in education, she pursued her entrepreneurial passion, opening a sales booth at Treasures Old and New in Newnan, Georgia, where she sold unique finds for several years. She eventually fulfilled a longtime dream by opening her own shop, Ruby’s Slipper, in Griffin, Georgia—a reflection of her love for beautiful, meaningful treasures and her talent for connecting with people.
Above all else, Lisa had an extraordinary love for animals. Her compassion extended far beyond her own home, as she was actively involved in dog rescue efforts beginning in the early 2000s with organizations such as Dachshund Rescue and Georgia Humane. This passion remained a constant throughout her life, culminating in the adoption of a chihuahua in 2025. Her home was always filled with rescued animals, unconditional love, and a sense of safety for those who needed it most.
Lisa married the love of her life, Christopher J. Ramig, on January 15, 2004. Together they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and shared love for animals and family.
She is survived by her husband, Christopher J. Ramig of Fayetteville; her mother, Martha Watsky of Naples, Florida; her father, William Ordway of Peachtree City; her sister, Whitney Puriton of Newnan, Georgia; and her son, William Fitzgerald of Carnesville, Georgia., grandaughter Shelley Edwards of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. She is also lovingly remembered by the three dogs and two cats who remained by her side at her home in Fayetteville.
Lisa’s memory will live on through the countless lives—human and animal alike—that she touched with her kindness, generosity, and love.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal rescue organization of your choice in honor of Lisa’s lifelong passion for helping animals in need.
