Rebrand reflects regional expansion, donor stewardship, and continued commitment to local giving

After more than 25 years of serving Coweta County through philanthropy and community partnerships, the Coweta Community Foundation has announced a new name — Caring Communities Foundation — reflecting the organization’s growth and expanded mission to serve neighboring counties while maintaining its strong local roots.

The name change honors the foundation’s history while embracing a broader vision to strengthen communities across West Georgia and South Metro Atlanta.

Founded in 1997 as the Newnan-Coweta Chamber Foundation and renamed Coweta Community Foundation in 1999, the organization has long been recognized for strengthening local nonprofits, stewarding donor funds, and improving quality of life through strategic giving.

“This change reflects who we’ve become — a foundation that connects and empowers caring communities across our region,” said Scott McInnis, executive director of the Caring Communities Foundation. “While our reach has grown, our promise remains the same: what’s raised here stays here. Every gift continues to directly support the communities donors care about most.”

As part of its expanded mission, the Caring Communities Foundation emphasizes its role in vetting and training nonprofits to ensure donors’ philanthropy is well-stewarded and directed toward organizations that operate with transparency, accountability, and measurable impact.

The foundation also helps donors create tax-deductible investment giving funds that allow their initial gifts to grow tax-free, maximizing charitable resources and enabling greater long-term support for the community.

The foundation’s reach now includes Fayette, Meriwether, and South Fulton counties, offering donor-advised funds, scholarship funds, fiscal sponsorships, endowments, nonprofit training programs, and many other resources for donors and nonprofits.

Through these services, the Caring Communities Foundation continues to serve as a trusted partner for individuals, families, and businesses seeking to make sustainable, high-impact investments in their communities.

“Our focus is helping donors give wisely, helping nonprofits operate effectively, and helping communities thrive,” McInnis said. “This is a natural progression of our mission — building on decades of impact in Coweta County while sharing that model of stewardship with neighboring areas.”

The foundation will continue to host its annual Nonprofit Summit, scheduled for Feb. 12–13, 2026, which brings together leaders from across the region for training, collaboration, and resource sharing.
