The artwork of Sandy Creek High’s Amir Hood will be displayed among the greats as part of an exhibit at the High Museum of Art.

Hood’s piece is called “ELEVATE.” The medium is color pencils, no small task for a work of its size. It took hours of work for Hood to complete.

The exhibit was open to teachers who are members of the Georgia Art Education Association, and Sandy Creek visual arts teacher Evenie Bour selected Hood’s piece for possible approval.

ELEVATE will be on display from April 22 through May 18. Hood is interested in selling the piece after the end of the exhibit.
