East Coweta High School Principal Steve Allen was arrested Monday evening on a domestic violence charge.
According to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Department, “On Monday, February 24th, 2025, Coweta County E911 received a 911 call in reference to a dispute on Rock Mill Ct. Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies responded to the scene and began investigating the events leading to the 911 call. This investigation led to the arrest of Stephen Allen who was charged with Battery FVA and Criminal Trespass with Damage to Property before being transported to Coweta County Jail.”
They continued, “Mr. Allen was not granted bond and is currently awaiting first appearance.”
Tuesday afternoon Coweta School Superintendent Dr. Evan Horton sent a message to parents informing them that Steve Allen, principal at East Coweta High School had been arrested the night before. His message stated, “As you may have seen on the news or in social media, Mr. Allen was involved in an incident at his home last night resulting in his arrest.”
The letter went onto say that Principal Allen was not on site at the school and that “East Coweta faculty and staff were ensuring a smooth day for students.”
The social media rumor mill is churning, but the consensus is that this incident was between Principal Allen and his adult son, possibly starting with a damaging social media post that Allen wanted his son to remove.
The Citizen expects that the Coweta County School System would put Principal Steve Allen on leave, but as he is just encarcerated, it may take the system a few days.
