Clarence “Bud” Ellis, 91, of Peachtree City, GA passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
He was born to Clarence David Ellis and Margaret Barry in Ottumwa, IA on March 17, 1933.
At 17 he entered the Air Force and went on to proudly serve in the Korean War. He served a total of 12 years in the Air Force. He went on to have a long career as a Civil servant with both the US Department of Defense and the US Department of Agriculture. He retired from the USDA Rural Electrification Administration in 1991. Bud was a member of Holy Trinity church in Peachtree City. He was a member of both the VFW Post 9949 and the American Legion Post 50. He enjoyed watching FOX News and Hallmark movies. He had a dry sense of humor and was kind to everyone. He was well loved by everyone who knew him.
Bud was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Ellen Roediger Ellis and both of his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Michele (Stan) Hall; son, Barry (Kelli) Ellis; daughter, Julie (Mike) Calhoun; grandchildren, Magan Katnis, Nichole (Alex) Gurney, Abbey Katnis, Emily (Tyler) McCance, Sam Ellis, Jake Ellis, Luke Ellis, Jeremy (Ashley) Hall, Lauren Hall, and Thomas Hall; and his great-grandchildren , Clara Gurney, Arthur Gurney, Kamryn Hulon, Koen Hulon, Jack Cyrus, Campbell Hall and Carren Hall , along with his brother Jim Ellis and many other family members.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 3pm in the Somerby Room at Somerby Independent Living (300 Rockaway Rd, Peachtree City). We invite family and friends to come and say goodbye. He will be interred at a later date at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA with full military honors.
