Sandra was the beloved wife of Jed Lyles, her soulmate and husband of 57 years. She often said she “got the best one” in Jed, and their marriage was a true testament to unconditional love. Together, they raised two daughters, Tammy Jones and Holly Myers, and were deeply involved in the lives of their grandchildren: Olivia Paradice, Brooklynn Jones, Katelyn Myers, and Mason Myers.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Jed Lyles; her daughters, Tammy Jones (Gene Sharpe) and Holly Myers (Nathan Myers); her grandchildren, Olivia Paradice (DaKota Paradice), Brooklynn Jones, Katelyn Myers, and Mason Myers; her brothers, Windsor Hayes (Gloria Hayes), Wesley Hayes (Lynn Hayes), and Graham Hayes (Joann Hayes); and her sister-in-law, Betty Gayle Wimpy. She is also survived by extended family and dear friends who will always cherish her memory.

As a faithful Christian, Sandra raised her family in New Hope Baptist Church and was dedicated to sharing her love for God with others. She worked as an elementary school teacher for 32 years and left a lasting impact on her students, instilling in them a love for learning and a sense of kindness that mirrored her own heart.

Sandra had a heart of gold and was known for her wisdom, warmth, and generosity. Her family was always her priority, her love and guidance shaped the lives of everyone around her. She was strong and, at times, stubborn, but every decision she made was rooted in her deep love for her family.

She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — reading, spending time at the lake house, fishing, riding the pontoon, and working in the yard alongside her husband. She spent years reading books and enjoyed luncheons with her dedicated book club friends. She also had a passion for decorating her home and yard for every holiday, turning each celebration into something special.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Georgia. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the same location, with a burial to follow in Barnesville.
