Richard Vincent “Dick” Fink, from Valley Stream, New York, held his final TV remote control on May 2, 2024, in Peachtree City, Georgia. Born on March 8, 1947 in Rockville Centre, Dick lived a colorful and entertaining life, passing away at the age of 77 from a traumatic brain injury.
After serving honorably as an M.P. in Vietnam, Dick was in the second class of Sky Marshals and was assigned to fly on Pan Am out of JFK International Airport in N.Y.C. It was during his service at JFK that he met his wife of fifty plus years, Janet Tipping. He then devoted years of service as a U.S. Customs Inspector for U.S. Customs Service and Homeland Security at Los Angeles International Airport and Atlanta’s Hartsfield International Airport.
When he wasn’t ensuring the security of the nation, Dick found joy in traveling the world with Jamy, fostering cats, and demonstrating his limitless love for animals, including his cherished hamsters, cats, and dog.
He was known for being the ultimate TV enthusiast, never missing a favorite show, wearing out two couches, and for creating unforgettable moments with his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet “Jamy” Fink, his children Michelle Case, Adam (Amy) Fink, and Eric (Rebecca) Fink, as well as his adored grandchildren Kiara, Abigail, Lucas, Kayla, Coby, and Casey. Dick leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, May 20, 2024, at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
