Edna Mae Heser, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 22, 2024, in Fayetteville, Georgia. Born on September 2, 1944, in Atlanta, Georgia, Edna lived a life filled with love, music, and cherished moments with her family.
Throughout her life, Edna had a passion for spending time with her loved ones. Her family was her greatest joy, and she adored being a devoted wife to her husband, Coach Heser. Together, they created a loving and supportive home where memories were made and cherished.
As a mother, Edna’s unconditional love and unwavering support were always present. She leaves behind her sons, John Hardy, James (Catherine) Hardy, and Joe Hardy, as well as her daughter, Angela (Jason) Dreadon. Edna’s love extended beyond her immediate family to include stepson Tobin Heser and stepdaughter Jessica Heser.
Edna was a doting grandmother to her grandchildren Dawson, Ashley, Scarlett, John Ryan, Sarah, Audrey, Zachary, Austin, Brianna and Kailey. Their laughter brought her immeasurable happiness, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She also had the joy of being a great-grandmother to Lucian, completing her family circle with pure delight.
Music played a significant role in Edna’s life. She was a talented musician who found solace and expression through playing the piano and cello. Her musical spirit resonated powerfully within her, filling the hearts of those around her with joy.
Edna was a kind and compassionate soul who formed a deep bond with her sister, Patsy Jane Elrod. As sisters, they shared secrets, dreams, and supported one another through life’s ups and downs. Their connection was unbreakable and drove them to create a lifetime of cherished memories together.
In the hearts of those she leaves behind, Edna will forever hold a special place. Her contagious laughter, unwavering love, and gentle presence will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Sarah Wood, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms on the other side. Additionally, Edna can now walk her beloved dog, Luke, once again.
Though Edna’s time with us has come to an end, her spirit and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. As we reflect on her life, let us remember the gift of family, the importance of music, and the power of cherishing precious moments together. Edna Heser’s legacy will forever inspire us to embrace love, find solace in music, and treasure our loved ones with all our hearts.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.
