Stephen “Steve” Ray Boyd, 53, of Newnan, GA passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, after a difficult fight with gastric cancer lasting over a year. He is finally at rest.
He was born in Atlanta, GA on June 4, 1970, to Nelda and Truman Boyd. He was raised in Fayetteville, GA, and was a 1988 graduate of Fayette County High School.
Steve and his wife, Michelle, were married for 22 years. They enjoyed working together in their businesses, traveling, and spending time with friends. As a longtime member of Bear Creek Hounds, Steve and Michelle attended many fox hunting and fellowship events with members. Steve was also a member of the Meriwether County Cattlemen’s Association.
As a small business owner providing outdoor services and land management, Steve was committed to growing his business and working with his team. One of his favorite sayings was, “Keep Moving.” Over the years, his friends provided great encouragement and business advice to him. During slow and tough times, his “Keep Moving” attitude kept him innovating and finding new ways to expand his business.
With an appreciation for nature, Steve planted beautiful roses in his yard, had a delicious crop of tomatoes each year, and sought great pleasure watching the birds at his bird feeders. He loved the beach, saltwater fishing, and spending time with his two dogs and many cows over the years.
Steve joined his father, Truman Boyd, in heaven. He leaves his wife, Michelle Boyd; brother, Michael Boyd; mother, Nelda Boyd; nephew, Blake Boyd; mother-in-law, Vicki Turner; father-in-law, Tommy Turner; sister-in-law, Christy Palmer; brother-in-law, Curtis Palmer; and many other family and close friends to cherish his memory.
