Jane Alice Trice, aged 77, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away peacefully in the early evening of December 8, 2023, after a brave battle with Parkinson’s disease and dementia.
Jane was born on October 19, 1946, to Alice Owen and John Hubert Clark in Quincy, Florida. She attended Greensboro High School and went on to graduate from Tift College in 1968. Coming from a family of educators, she earned her degree in Elementary Education, subsequently embarking on a career as an educator herself.
Jane married Carey Trice on December 28, 1969, in Greensboro, Florida, at Greensboro Baptist Church. They initially settled in Winter Park, Florida, buying their first home there, before setting roots in Fayetteville, Georgia.
Jane, known for her boundless kindness, was a beloved teacher who inspired a love of learning in her students. As a dedicated mother, her nurturing spirit extended to her family and beyond. An avid reader, Jane was never without a book, a testament to her love of learning and literature, and inspiring those around her. Jane, also a loving Grandmother and Aunt, cherished reading to her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Jane is survived by husband, Carey Trice; children, Mike Trice and Matt Trice; grandchildren, Caleb Trice, Mason Trice, Wyatt Trice and Addelaide Trice; and siblings, Ann Bryant and John Clark. Jane was a beloved wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, and her presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Pastors Dan Akins and Hugh Kirby officiating.
Jane will be laid to rest at Lamar Memory Gardens, Barnesville following the service. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
